Monica Garcia-Roach received her Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of New Mexico in 2010 and her Special Education K-12 Certification from Eastern New Mexico University in 2019. She holds endorsements in Math and Science, and completed the Non-Profit Leadership course through the University of New Mexico.​
Monica has been in education for over 13 years, teaching grades K-12. During those years, she has taught in a myriad of settings, including public school where she taught math and was an AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Coordinator, private school, and the inaugural teacher for a hospital school program where she taught students with a variety of chronic illnesses and disabilities. Monica has experience writing, implementing IEP's, and partners with families to ensure their student is being supported and progressing. During the 2021-2022 school year, she was a State Ambassador for the New Mexico Public Education Department Teacher Leadership Program.​
Monica’s work experiences have provided her the opportunity to work with the most amazing students and families who have inspired her with their resiliency, determination, and smiles! She cares and teaches each student as they are her own.​

Monica Garcia-Roach was born and raised in Albuquerque, NM, is married, and has two adult children. In her spare time, Monica enjoys spending time with her family and friends, watching sports, and reading.​
